Coconino County in north central Arizona... * Until 645 PM MST. * At 345 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the White Sage Fire scar. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the White Sage Fire scar. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the White Sage Fire scar. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Le Fevre Overlook. This includes U.S. Highway 89A near mile marker 563...and between mile markers 571 and 576...and between mile markers 585 and 591. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Coyote Wash, Rock Canyon, Johnson Wash, Jacob Canyon, Wildcat Canyon, Kaibab Wash and House Rock Wash. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flash flooding is occurring or imminent within the White Sage Fire scar. Campers, hunters, and hikers should move to higher ground immediately! Stay away from creeks and washes! Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Deadly flooding over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 112 PM MST /212 PM MDT/, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Needmore Wash, Little Colorado River, Campbell Francis Wash, Cedar Wash, Lava Wash, Tappan Wash and Burro Canyon Wash. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tappan Spring and Cameron. - This includes State Route 64 between mile markers 294 and 295. This includes the following swimming holes... Elevated flow is expected in the Colorado River between river miles 61 and 69. * WHERE...Coconino County in north central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 600 PM MST /700 PM MDT/ Tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. Further rises in the water levels of already flooded creeks and normally dry washes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 858 AM MST /958 AM MDT/, local law enforcement reported flooding at the Moenkopi wash in Moenkopi village. Evacuations are ongoing. Additionally, the river gauge at Moenkopi continues to rise and is exceeding major flood stage. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Colorado River, Little Colorado River, and Moenkopi Wash. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tuba City, Moenkopi, Louise Yellowman County Park, Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park, Rare Metals and Salt Trail Canyon. - This includes the following highways...
