...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...A high impact winter weather event is expected this Friday night through Sunday morning with heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected over the central to northern portions of the state, with local amounts in excess of 8 to 10 inches possible. A mixture of snow and sleet accumulations between 1 to 3 inches is expected across the southern third of the state. Freezing rain accumulations of a quarter inch to half inch are possible over far southern Arkansas. In addition to the wintry precipitation, dangerous wind chill values of -5 to -10 degrees below zero are possible across north Arkansas on Saturday night into Sunday morning. * WHERE...Portions of central, eastern, north central, southeast, southwest, and western Arkansas. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice.
