Northwestern Union Parish in north central Louisiana... * Until 545 PM CDT. * At 444 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 9 miles northeast of Bluff City to 6 miles north of Shongaloo, or along a line from 21 miles east of Prescott to 8 miles east of Springhill, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... El Dorado, Magnolia, Springhill, Smackover, Waldo, Norphlet, Huttig, Junction City, McNeil, Taylor, Strong, Calion, Emerson, Rosston, Willisville, Bluff City, Lisbon, Mount Holly, Village and Wesson. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure. Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant property damage. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, including the following counties, Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada and Sevier, northwest Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bossier, Caddo and Webster, southeast Oklahoma, including the following county, McCurtain, and northeast Texas, including the following counties, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Red River, Smith, Titus, Upshur and Wood. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The combination of a slow moving front and an incoming weather system will bring periods of thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall to far southeastern Oklahoma and portions of the ArkLaTex along and northwest of the Interstate 30 Corridor Today and tonight. Widespread rain amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected, although isolated amounts of 5 inches or more are likely.
