* WHAT...For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 106.
For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, eastern, north central, southeast,
and southwest Arkansas.

* WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening.
For the second Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 8 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

* WHEN...Until Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Low lying cultivated land and pastures in
Lawrence, Jackson, and Independence counties flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 16.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Thursday afternoon and continue falling to 13.5 feet
Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
