...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
NOON CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 6 above expected
overnight.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Alabama, northwest
Florida, and southeast Mississippi.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Temperatures this cold can
possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will likely be an extended duration cold
event where temperatures fail to make it above freezing Saturday,
especially over interior counties near and north of the Highway 84
corridor. Temperatures may remain below freezing for up to 36
hours. Wind chills during the day Saturday may stay in the upper
teens to lower 20s areawide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Tombigbee River near Coffeeville Dam.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 29.0 feet, pastureland becomes flooded. Livestock
should be moved to higher ground. Old Ferry Road near the river
begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM CST Thursday the stage was 29.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 15.2 feet
Tuesday evening.
- Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
