...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM CST MONDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 12 degrees expected inland, and around 15 degrees along the coast. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Monday. * IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...If confidence increases in wind chills below 15 degrees along the immediate coastline, an Extreme Cold Warning may be needed for dangerously cold wind chills. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
