...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Chilton and Shelby. * WHEN...Until 1015 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Small stream flooding may lead to water over roadways and areal flooding near Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road in Shelby County and along Walnut Creek above Clanton in Chilton County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 832 AM CDT, Gauge reports from Walnut Creek above Clanton and Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road indicated small stream flooding is ongoing due to additional heavy rainfall of 2 to 3 inches overnight. - Some locations near these small stream basins that may experience flooding include... Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Calera, Chelsea, Clanton, Columbiana, Jemison, Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village, Thorsby, Harpersville, Westover, Lay Lake, Gap Of The Mountain, Mitchell Lake, Oak Mountain State Park, Higgins Ferry Park, Highland Lakes and Mount Laurel. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible over areas that are already saturated from rainfall over the past 48 hours. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
