...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Alabama, including the following county, Baldwin. * WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 448 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring. Between 5 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Foley, Orange Beach, Perdido Beach, Elberta, Miflin, Josephine and Caswell. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...In Alabama, Mobile Coastal and Baldwin Coastal Counties. In Florida, Escambia Coastal, Santa Rosa Coastal and Okaloosa Coastal Counties. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 AM CDT Monday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current.
