...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM AKST MONDAY... * WHAT...Northeast winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph. * WHERE...Lower Matanuska Valley, including Palmer and Wasilla. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...High winds could move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will continue to strengthen this morning and peak this afternoon through Monday morning. Winds will be slow to to weaken, likely not dropping below 60 mph until late Monday. Expect blowing and drifting snow, though there isn't enough snow on the ground to cause reductions in visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread power outages.
