...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM AKDT THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is possible near Kwethluk.

* WHERE...The following area, Kwethluk

* WHEN...From 4 PM AKDT this afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...
As of Saturday, an ice jam has been in place and is impounding
water at Kalskag. When this jam breaks, a pulse of water will flow
downstream.  Potential ice jams and associated high water may
cause minor or moderate flooding in Kwethluk as the ice front
moves past the village.  Generally, water levels have been near
normal this breakup season.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Ice jam flooding has high uncertainty. Impacts could range
between localized high water and severe flooding. Now is the
time to take precautions. Where possible, move items to
higher ground and prepare your community for possible
flooding.

prepared to take action.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared

...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM ON THE KUSKOKWIM RIVER NOW IN
EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM AKDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues.

* WHERE...Kuskokwim River near Kalskag.

* WHEN...Until 1030 AM AKDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...As of Saturday morning, flooding was reported due to an
ice jam on the Kuskokwim River below Kalskag. The jam was
impounding water and causing rises on the Kuskokwim River in
Kalskag as well as along Mud Creek around the back of Kalskag.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 915 AM AKDT, Water was reported over the road that
connects Upper and Lower Kalskag, closing the road to
traffic. Expect water levels to fluctuate until the ice jam
releases.
