...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 30 mph for SW Kenai Peninsula and as high as 40 mph for Southern Kachemak Bay. * WHERE...SW Kenai Peninsula and Southern Kachemak Bay. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 AM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop from east to west across southern Kenai Peninsula through this afternoon and evening. The heaviest snow is expected from tonight through Friday morning before tapering off. Northerly winds will also increase tonight into Friday which may result in localized areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially along the immediate coast, Sterling Highway, and Homer Bluff.
