...FLOOD WARNING FOR HIGH WATER AND HEAVY ICE RUNS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM AKDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by high water and heavy ice runs continues. * WHERE...St. Mary's. * WHEN...Until 100 AM AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is expected or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1002 PM AKDT, water levels have risen significantly with impacts to low lying fish camps and smokehouses. Smaller outbuildings from camps were reported to be floating upstream on the Andreafsky River. Observers have reported the highest water since 1989. Until the breakup front moves farther downstream, expect continued slow rises and potential flooding of low-lying areas. - Water levels had peaked at the Yukon River Pilot Station gage at 33.76 feet Sunday afternoon and have begun to slowly drop as of Sunday evening. The breakup front remains located downriver of Mountain Village. It is moving slowly into the remaining in-place ice. Plenty of high water is still pushing down the river from the jam near Holy Cross a few days ago. ...FLOOD WARNING FOR HIGH WATER AND HEAVY ICE RUNS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM AKDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Extensive flooding caused by high water and heavy ice runs continues. * WHERE...Pilot Station. * WHEN...Until 100 AM AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Extensive flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 959 PM AKDT, water levels had peaked at the Yukon River Pilot Station gage at 33.76 feet Sunday afternoon and have begun to slowly drop as of Sunday evening. Low-lying areas remain flooded. All roads in Pilot Station are impassable unless by boat. Multiple homes are inundated with water. Water levels have exceeded 2024 and are second only to 1989. Residents should continue to exercise caution in and around flood waters. - The breakup front remains located downriver of Mountain Village. It is moving slowly into the remaining in-place ice.
