For Anchorage north to Big Lake and Wasilla, total snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches. * WHERE...Anchorage / Eagle River (all elevations), and Lower Matanuska Valley. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Steady snow overnight has led to widespread accumulations of 2-4 inches. Steady snow continues through the day Tuesday with periods of heavier snow possible affecting the morning and evening commutes. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour in this heavy snow is possible, leading to significantly reduced visibility of one half mile or less at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
