Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 10:16 AM Oct. 28, 2025 – National Weather Service
...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM AKDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Visibility down to one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...Anchorage and Lower Matanuska Valley. * WHEN...Until 10 AM AKDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. Below freezing temperatures may lead to frost on bridges and roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As of 2 AM, areas of locally dense fog have developed across west Anchorage and northward along the Glenn Highway to the Parks/Glenn Highway Interchange, including Eagle River, Birchwood, Chugiak, and around the Knik River Bridge. Below freezing temperatures will allow for slick spots to develop along roadways, especially over bridges and overpasses. These areas of fog are expected to linger through late morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks and roadways causing slippery conditions. &&
