...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Very cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below zero. * WHERE...Copper River Basin. * WHEN...Until 4 PM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerously cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures below -40F are expected through Friday morning, warming to the -10s and -20s when cloud cover builds in. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
