Tree limbs could be blown down. Winds for Baranof Island will be mainly on the east side of the island, and stronger winds for the Prince of Wales Island will be along the Clarence Strait or eastern portion of the island. ...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND WINDY CONDITIONS ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE MONDAY... A system will bring a series of fronts across the panhandle beginning Sunday night and lasting through the day Monday, with heaviest precipitation across the southern panhandle. Heaviest rainfall is expected during Monday afternoon associated with the second front as it pushes into the southern panhandle. Rain rates up to 0.15 inch per hour are possible as this heavier band moves through. At this time, the highest confidence for seeing these higher rain rates is for Annette Island and Ketchikan. Confidence continues to increase for 24 hour rainfall totals on Monday between 2.50 and 3.50 for Annette Island and Ketchikan, and between 1.00 and 2.00 inches for Prince of Wales Island. Localized areas may see either higher or lower amounts due to the terrain influence. Winds are expected to increase into Monday morning following the first front, with gusts up to 40 mph possible during the day.
