* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, extremely cold
temperatures as low as 20 below. For the Cold Weather
Advisory, dangerously cold temperatures as low as 15 below
expected.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Juneau.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 6 AM AKST Tuesday.
For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 AM to 6 PM AKST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves
or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing
and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
