For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 6 to 8 ft expected. * WHERE...Northern Lynn Canal. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until midnight AKST tonight. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area or conduct mitigation. ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST TODAY... * WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chill temperatures as low as 20 below. * WHERE...Haines Borough and Klukwan. * WHEN...Until noon AKST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are possible if exposed to these temperatures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest wind chills are expected along the Haines Highway near the Canadian border. The community of Haines will see wind chills around zero.
