...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM SUNDAY TO 8 AM AKDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Breaking waves of 4 to 8 feet. Southwest winds up to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * WHERE...Kachemak Bay, including the south side of Homer Spit. * WHEN...2 PM Sunday through 8 AM Monday * IMPACTS...Water and light debris (such as small rocks) may wash over portions of the Homer Spit Road. Minor beach erosion is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The worst conditions are expected late Sunday afternoon or evening as southwesterly winds quickly increase in conjunction with or just after the 3:55 PM AKDT high tide. South to southwest winds and rough seas are expected to persist into Monday morning through the following high tide at 3:44 AM AKDT before conditions slowly improve as the tide goes back out. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area, producing rip currents and localized beach erosion. &&
