...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM AKST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...NW Kenai Peninsula, SW Kenai Peninsula, and Skilak Lake, including Sterling, Kenai, Soldotna, and Ninilchik. * WHEN...Until 11 AM AKST this morning. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of locally dense fog have developed overnight across the Western Kenai Peninsula. These areas of fog are likely to remain west of Cooper Landing, with thickest fog along the Sterling Highway corridor from Sterling west to Kenai and Nikiski and south to Ninilchik. Below freezing temperatures will allow for slick spots to develop along roadways, especially over bridges and overpasses. These areas of fog are expected to linger through late morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. &&
