...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKST NEXT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below zero.

* WHERE...Copper River Basin.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKST next Friday, December 19th.

* IMPACTS...Dangerously cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below
zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5
minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these
temperatures.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Although temperatures will increase slightly
today, overnight apparent temperatures will once again be
dangerously cold and is expected to remain a threat through next
week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves. Be sure to have an emergency kit in your car and
appropriate cold weather clothing and blankets in case your car
breaks down.
