...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO NOON AKST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Visibilities reduced to one-quarter mile or less due to blowing and drifting snow. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches. Northerly winds gusting as high as 40-50 mph. * WHERE...Northern Bristol Bay coast around Nushagak Bay. This includes the communities of Dillingham, Manokotak, and Clark's Point. * WHEN...From noon Friday to noon AKST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is part of a long-duration snow storm that that will bring 10-16 inches of snow from tonight through Saturday afternoon. Visibility improves by Saturday afternoon as snow comes to an end, though strong winds may continue to loft snow on the ground through the overnight hours. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely.
