...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Very cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below zero. * WHERE...Copper River Basin. * WHEN...Until 4 PM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerously cold temperatures as low as 40 to 50 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight apparent temperatures will be dangerously cold and are expected to remain a threat through next week. The strongest wind gusts, 25 to 35 mph, are expected to occur through the northern passes of the Alaska Range and along the Tok Cutoff road from Gulkana to Chistochina. Northerly winds diminish starting Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Be sure to have an emergency kit in your car and appropriate cold weather clothing and blankets in case your car breaks down. &&
