...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM AKST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less due to blowing snow. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island. * WHEN...Until 3 AM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds are expected along the Kuskokwim Delta coast from Kipnuk north to Toksook Bay through early this afternoon. This will also be when the worst visibility conditions are expected to occur. After this time, lower snow rates and warmer temperatures will slowly lead to improved visibility despite gusty winds continuing to blow snow around. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel very hazardous. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
