* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 20 kt
with gusts up to 25 kt and waves 4 to 7 ft. For the Gale Watch,
southerly winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt Thursday
night becoming westerly 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt on
Friday along with waves 5 to 8 ft.

* WHERE...Nearshore Waters from North Point Lighthouse to
Winthrop Harbor IL.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 1 AM CDT Thursday.
For the Gale Watch, from Thursday evening through late Friday
night.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and waves.
