The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Fire Weather
Watch, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday
evening.

* Timing...From 11 AM until 7 PM today for the Red Flag Warning.
For the Fire Weather Watch, late Friday morning through the
evening.

* Wind...For today, Southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph. For Friday, West at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Humidity...For today, as low as 10 percent. For Friday, as low
as 12 percent.

* Fuels...Dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
