...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING... ...REPLACES FLOOD WARNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Eastern Cameron County in deep south Texas... * WHEN...Until 515 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 411 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... South Padre Island, Port Isabel City Hall, Port Isabel Lighthouse, Port Isabel Fire And Police Department, Port Isabel High School, Garria Elementary School, Washington Park, Laguna Heights, South Padre Island Police Department, South Padre Island Birding Center, South Padre Island Convention Center, U.s. Coast Guard Station, Laguna Vista Police Department, Beach Access Four, Beach Access Five, Holly Beach, Beach Access Six, Starbase, Boca Chica Beach and Port Isabel--Laguna Heights. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following areas, Brooks, Cameron Island, Coastal Cameron, Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy, Inland Cameron, Inland Kenedy, Inland Willacy, Jim Hogg, Kenedy Island, Northern Hidalgo, Southern Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy Island and Zapata. * WHEN...Through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Along with heavy rain previously fallen, more heavy rainfall may produce up to 2 inches, with pockets of 5 inches or more possible.
