Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...High risk of rip currents.

* WHERE...Lucas, Ottawa and Erie Counties.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Wind and wave action will cause currents on the
lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can
carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along
structures extending out into the lake.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Ohio, including
the following counties, in north central Ohio, Erie and Huron. In
northwest Ohio, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms with periods of torrential rain
rates will continue to occasionally affect the area through
this afternoon. Rain rates of greater than 2 inches per hour
are possible with thunderstorms, which can quickly result in
flooding in prone areas.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...The Lake Erie Islands, including portions of Ottawa County
and Erie County.

* WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1143 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kelleys Island, Put-In-Bay, Middle Bass Island and North Bass
Island.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
