...HIGH FIRE DANGER IN SOUTHEAST OHIO TODAY... THIS IS A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT ISSUED IN COORDINATION WITH THE OHIO DIVISION OF FORESTRY. THE WILDFIRE DANGER IS ELEVATED TODAY FOR SOUTHEAST OHIO. VERY DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON WITH OCCASIONAL WIND GUSTS 40 TO 50 MPH. OPEN BURNING OF ANY TYPE IS CONSIDERED EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT THIS TIME. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HEAT AND SPARKS WHILE OPERATING ANY EQUIPMENT OR SMOKING IN WILDLAND AREAS. OHIO STATE LAW PROHIBITS BURNING FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM DURING THE MONTHS OF MARCH...APRIL...AND MAY.
