...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow possible. Potential for 7 inches or more of snow in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph creating blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Wayne, Northern Cayuga, and Oswego Counties. * WHEN...From Monday evening through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult in deep snow covered roads. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Most intense bands of lake effect snow expected Monday night. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Narrow bands of heavy snow could bring rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Localized travel problems will be possible. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away.
