...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. * WHERE...Mohawk Valley, Greater Capital District, southern VT, western Massachusetts, and northern and eastern Catskills. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Confidence in wind gusts exceeding 50mph has decreased but the window of opportunity for wind gusts up to 50mph continues through early this morning. Such strong winds can result in downed tree limbs and scattered power outages. Therefore, we will maintain the high wind warning until the threat ends. Gusty winds reaching up to 30 to 40mph will continue through the day today which may result in additional impacts. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive. &&
