...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Nevada, including the following county, Elko, including the former Jakes Fire burn scar near Midas. * WHEN...Until 1000 AM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, including the former Jakes Fire burn scar near Midas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 138 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain. This area has received rainfall over the last two days and the ground is likely saturated. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Midas, including the former Jakes Fire burn scar near Midas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas. &&
