At 603 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in Petal
and portions of Forrest County. Flash flooding is already occurring
from earlier rainfall.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Petal and portions of Forrest
County. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water
crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Hattiesburg, Petal, West Hattiesburg, Purvis, McLaurin, Rock Hill,
Sunrise, Brooklyn, Maxie and Macedonia.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Black Creek near Brooklyn.

* WHEN...From late tonight to early Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 21.8 feet, Portions of JC Burt Road flood in the Camp
Dantzler area begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 16.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 21.0 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday
morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
