For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Minnesota and east central South Dakota. * WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until noon CST today. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 3 AM Monday to noon CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 40 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
