Chisago...Anoka...Washington...Polk... * Until 415 PM CDT. * At 118 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. * Some locations that will experience minor flooding include... Lino Lakes, Forest Lake, Ham Lake, Hugo, Chisago City, Lindstrom, Scandia, Osceola, St. Croix Falls, Taylors Falls, Centuria, and Dresser. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. &&

Northwest Hennepin and Northeast Hennepin County in east central Minnesota... * Until 215 PM CDT. * At 115 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over Champlin, or 15 miles north of Minneapolis, moving northeast at 50 mph. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated.
