Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD...

* Until 1245 PM EDT.

* At 1117 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 22 nm west of Key Bridge to 14 nm west of Quantico
to 22 nm west of Aquia Creek, moving northeast at 50 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly
higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could
suffer significant damage in high winds.

* Locations impacted include...
Widewater, Leesylvania State Park, Smallwood State Park, National
Harbor, Quantico, Fort Washington, Tidal Basin, Reagan National
Airport, Gunston Hall, Mason Neck State Park, Woodrow Wilson
Bridge, Indian Head, Key Bridge, Occoquan Bay, Fort Hunt, and
Alexandria.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for District of
Columbia...southern and central Maryland...northern Virginia...and
the adjacent coastal waters.

* WHAT...South winds 15 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and waves
3 to 6 ft.

* WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Smith Point VA,
and Chesapeake Bay and adjoining estuaries north of Smith
Point VA.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.
