...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Illinois,
including the following counties, in south central Illinois, Bond,
Clinton, southwestern Fayette, Marion and Washington. In southwest
Illinois, east central Saint Clair.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 803 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause
minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Local emergency management officials reported water over
roadways.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Centralia, Salem, Greenville, Breese, New Baden, Carlyle,
Nashville, Trenton, Aviston, Okawville, St. Rose, Sandoval,
Germantown, Albers, Wamac, Central City, Odin, Beckemeyer,
Kinmundy and Pocahontas.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
