Southern Winnebago County in north central Illinois... Central McHenry County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 844 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms earlier this morning and current steady rain over the area. Minor flooding is expected to continue in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rockford, McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Roscoe, Fox Lake, Harvard, Marengo, Poplar Grove, Rockford Airport, Johnsburg, Lakemoor, Spring Grove, Candlewick Lake, Wonder Lake, Pistakee Highlands, Cherry Valley, Winnebago, Pecatonica, Richmond, Capron and Hebron. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rain this morning which may cause localized flash flooding.
