At 452 PM CST, a snow shower was located along a line extending from La Motte to near Sunbury. Movement was east at 60 mph. HAZARD...Visibilities near zero and winds in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Radar and webcams, IMPACTS...Snow covered surfaces including roadways, bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks. Difficulty seeing while driving. Quick accumulations of 1 to 2 inches of snow are expected. Locations impacted include... Clinton, Freeport, Sterling, Rock Falls, Maquoketa, Morrison, Mount Carroll, DeWitt, Camanche, Savanna, Lena, Bellevue, Stockton, Lanark, Garden Plain, Milledgeville, Preston, Fairhaven, Albany, and Princeton. This includes Interstate 88 between mile markers 21 and 44. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this snow squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads could lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the squall passes your location.
