Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. * WHERE...Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range, and The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the Indian Peaks. * WHEN...Until 11 PM MST this evening. * IMPACTS...Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less. Near blizzard conditions are possible, especially Saturday morning. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, with road closures possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The Avalanche Danger is HIGH (Level 4 of 5) through Saturday *WHERE...Park Range and the Gore Range *WHEN...Expect very dangerous avalanche conditions through Saturday at 5 PM. *IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds are creating very dangerous avalanche conditions. Large and dangerous avalanches are easy to trigger. Large avalanches will release naturally from wind-loaded slopes. *PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended through Saturday.
