...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 11 feet. * WHERE...West and north facing reefs of Palau and Yap. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A large north-northwest swell is building along west and north facing reefs of Palau and Yap, with hazardous levels of at least 9 feet expected through Thursday afternoon. North reefs are expected to see the highest surf, reaching up to around 11 feet, before subsiding Thursday as the north swell diminishes and the primary swell direction shifts toward the northeast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. &&
