...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM AST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...This level of heat affects most individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. * WHERE...Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. * WHEN...Until 3 PM AST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...High temperatures or elevated heat indices can worsen symptoms in people with chronic conditions. They can also increase the risk of heat-related illness among individuals sensitive to heat with inadequate cooling or hydration. These risks are highest across coastal areas, lowlands, interior valleys, and urban zones. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
