At 220 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Villalba to near Cayey. These thunderstorms were nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Yaurel, Villalba, Pastos, Mariano Colon, Palmas, Parcelas La Milagr, Olimpo, Coamo, Parcelas La Milagrosa, Coco, Los Llanos, Barranquitas, Guayabal, Parcelas Nuevas, Coqui, Buena Vista, Corazon, Vazquez, G. L. Garcia, and Las Ollas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected today, with isolated higher amounts, mostly along the interior.
