Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... * At 259 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This strong thunderstorm was located over the coastal waters of northern Puerto Rico, just north of Aguadilla, moving northwest at 5 knots. Locations impacted include... Mainly open waters of Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico and USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N and Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. &&

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING... * WHAT..Life-threatening rip currents. * WHERE...Beaches of northern, eastern and southeastern Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. * WHEN...Through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water, where it becomes difficult to return to safety. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... There is a high risk of rip currents. Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins, jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and signs. If you become caught in a rip current, yell for help. Remain calm, do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for help. If you have to swim out of a rip current, swim parallel to shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly. &&
