...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM SUNDAY TO 5 AM AKST MONDAY... * WHAT...Snow and freezing rain expected. Total snow accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations around two tenths of an inch. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta, Kuskokwim Valley West, and Kuskokwim Valley East. * WHEN...From 1 AM Sunday to 5 AM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Surfaces will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation may cause power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first of two significant winter storms will move over the region beginning early Sunday morning. Precipitation is expected to start as snow for most locations, with up to 2 inches of snow possible. The snow is then expected to mix with then change to freezing rain by early Sunday afternoon with up to two tenths of an inch of ice possible, especially from Sleetmute to Crooked Creek and across the Kuskokwim Delta coast. Precipitation is expected to taper off Monday morning from Bethel east. A light wintry mix may continue along the Kuskokwim Delta coast Monday morning into Monday afternoon. After a break in the precipitation, a second storm system is then expected to move over the region Monday evening through Wednesday. This second storm system has the potential to produce a significant amount of freezing rain, up to half an inch, especially across the Kuskokwim Delta. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
