...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NATRONA COUNTY THROUGH 715 PM
MDT...

At 614 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 14 miles northwest of Teapot Rock to near Muddy
Gap. Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...
Independence Rock, Devil's Gate, and Goldeneye Reservoir around
620 PM MDT.
Teapot Rock around 625 PM MDT.
Emigrant Gap around 630 PM MDT.

Other locations in the path of these storms include Bar Nunn, Homa
Hills, Antelope Hills, Alcova, Casper, Mills, Red Butte, Paradise
Valley, Evansville, Beartrap Meadows County Park and Bates Hole.

This includes Interstate 25 between mile markers 176 and 228.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Riverton.

If on or near Pathfinder Lake, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
