...GULF LOW WILL BRING UNSEASONABLY STRONG WINDS TO PORTIONS OF SOUTHCENTRAL... Unseasonably strong winds will develop Saturday in response to a storm system moving northward through the Gulf of Alaska. Strong, gusty winds will develop along Turnagain Arm and Portage Valley late Saturday morning with winds increasing across the Anchorage Bowl by Saturday afternoon. The strongest winds are expected along the west side of the Anchorage Bowl. Strong winds will also develop across the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula, including Homer. For interior Kenai Peninsula, gusty winds are possible along east- west roadways/valleys with lighter winds along the north-south roadways/valleys. ** Please use caution if driving or towing a high profile vehicle, or if planning any outdoor activities with easily lofted objects. Expected wind gusts Saturday through Sunday morning: Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph Gusts of 30 to 45 mph (isolated gusts to 55 mph along Turnagain Arm and Portage)
