...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...SW Kenai Peninsula and Southern Kachemak Bay. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 AM AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop from east to west across the western and southern Kenai Peninsula through Thursday afternoon and evening. The heaviest snow is expected Thursday night through Friday morning before tapering off. Northerly winds will also increase Thursday night into Friday which may result in localized areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially along the immediate coast, Sterling Highway, and Homer Bluff.
