reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 6 PM Thursday to 6
AM ChST Sunday. For the High Rip Current Risk, from Thursday
morning through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

Small Craft Advisory

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...East to southeast winds 15 to 25 kt becoming southwest 20
to 30 kt Thursday night with gusts up to 40 kt, and seas 8 to
12 feet expected.

* WHERE...Tinian and Saipan Coastal Waters.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM ChST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A passing tropical disturbance and a strong
monsoon surge developing behind it will bring winds and seas
hazardous to small craft. There is a potential for gale force
winds to develop beginning Friday as the disturbance passes off
slowly to the northwest and the southwest flow intensifies.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan.

* WHEN...Through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
crossings may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An unsettled pattern caused by a passing tropical disturbance
Invest 98W and the monsoon surge in its wake is likely to
produce heavy showers and thunderstorms, with a flash
flooding risk to the region for at least the next several
days. Total rainfall of 6 to 12 inches with locally higher
amounts possible through Saturday night.
