...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CHST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Southeast winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 6 AM ChST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As Tropical Storm Fung-wong continues to move away from the region to the west, lingering southerly swell, background easterly swells and localized wind waves will continue to produce sea conditions hazardous to small craft tonight. Seas are expected to fall below hazardous criteria Saturday, but will remain choppy over the next several days due to multiple swells continuing to mix in. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CHST SATURDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 9 to 11 feet in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, along south facing reefs of the Marianas. For the High Rip Current Risk, along east and south facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory and High Rip Current Risk, through late Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor coastal flooding no longer poses a threat to the Marianas shores at this time. As Tropical Storm Fung- wong continues to move away from the region to the west, lingering southerly swell and background easterly swells will continue to produce hazardous surf along south facing reefs, and a high risk of rip currents along east and south facing reefs through late Saturday afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
