...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 5 PM CHST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Northeast winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 7 to 10 feet expected. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...From 6 AM Sunday to 5 PM ChST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds and seas will build Sunday and Monday as a surge in the trade winds strengthen near and east of the Marianas. A weak northerly swell entering the region Monday will help to keep seas around 10 feet into Tuesday and hazardous to small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. &&

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas. * WHEN...From Sunday morning through Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The trade swell will build as the trade-wind surge strengthens near and east of the Marianas. This will elevate surf along north and east facing reefs and generate a high risk of rip currents along east facing reefs through at least Tuesday afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&
